Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) (StubHub, Inc., Aliso Viejo, CA)

Develop, optimize, and maintain backend and frontend components across multiple programming languages and frameworks, ensuring high performance, reliability, and cross-platform consistency (15%). Solve advanced technical challenges in areas such as concurrency, distributed data consistency, latency reduction, and cross-service interactions, applying best practices and rigorous problem-solving techniques (10%). Refactor and improve core platforms through system-level optimizations, infrastructure enhancements, and automation to increase stability, scalability, and developer efficiency (15%). Design and implement features and services that improve system responsiveness, operational reliability, and long-term maintainability, balancing technical innovation with production readiness (20%). Contribute to robust monitoring, observability, and incident-response processes, ensuring resilient and highly available platform operations (10%). Collaborate with engineering peers to review architectures, share technical knowledge, and adopt high standards for software design, testing, and deployment (10%). Implement technically complex solutions that advance platform capabilities, improve system performance, and support sustained operational excellence across multiple services (10%). Build and enhance large-scale, distributed systems that support millions of users, focusing on high availability, fault tolerance, and maintainable architectures (10%). Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to StubHub, Inc. at 65 Enterprise, Suite 33, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656. Salary: $200,000 - $370,000 per year.

Minimum requirements

Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any occupation, job title, position performing full-stack user experience (UX).

In lieu of a Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any occupation, job title, position performing full-stack user experience (UX).
