Comand AI’s mission is to build next generation C2 software with real users in real deployments in the field. We are fully indexed on the success of every single user. We work onsite with users and customers and contribute to real operational work.
We’re looking for mission-driven, humble builders to be members of our Forward Deployed Engineering team. You’ll work hand in hand with our customers and users to deliver valuable solutions, and work closely with our product teams to deliver the right prototypes and signal to improve our core platform. This role requires comfort with - travel, ambiguity, chaos and a deep sense of ownership. The rewards are doing work that actual matters, with direct impact on your users.
What this looks like in practice:
• Travel onsite and iterate on core product directly with the user
• Ship full features - don’t think in terms of BE vs FE - to the core product
• Take bets by prototyping out product, validating with users, and then merging into core product if those bets pay off
• Collaborate deeply with product management, design, and engineering team to communicate field signal
Who We're Looking For Must-have:
• 2+ years of experience in full stack SWE roles. Former technical founders are also encouraged to apply
• EU citizenship (contractual requirement tied to our defense contracts)
• Deep user empathy: you don't just think about your portion of the stack, you can decompose the full user experience and build something that works end to end
• Ability to travel frequently (25% of the time) to client sites in France, the UK, and active deployment locations
• High agency and the ability to navigate ambiguity/chaos
Nice to have:
• Prior experience in defense, government, or dual-use tech environments
• Computer vision or geospatial background
• Experience with French sovereign cloud or equivalent constrained environments
• Prior FDE, solutions engineering, or field engineering experience at a deployment-heavy company

The Process • Talent screening : 30 min, online. We talk through your background and motivation.
• Technical screening : 60 min, online. This evaluates your coding skills as well as how you think about deployments and iterating with users.
• Onsite in Paris : half day. Analytical decomposition then a short project presentation.
